President Goodluck Jonathan moves against Oduah

The Bilateral Air Services Agreement is supposed to be signed by Nigeria's Minister of Aviation but when it happened a few days ago in Israel, it wasn't Stella Oduah that signed it. In a move to show that he is serious about probing Ms Oduah over the N225m bulletproof cars bought for her by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, President Jonathan asked the Minister of State , Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri, to sign the agreement on behalf of the Federal Government.

BASA has nothing to do with the Foreign Affairs Ministry. Stella Oduah was present at the signing but she sat with other Nigerian delegates as an observer.

While explaining why she joined President Jonathan's delegation to Israel last week, special adviser on media, Mr. Joe Obi, said it was to sign the BASA, but President Jonathan decided at the last minute to keep her from signing on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
