Nigerian Women loses her triplet in Lagos because she couldn't pay her medication bills

Temitope sanni gave birth to set of triplets. Shortly after they were born, all boys, the babies started dying one after the other. Reason being that the parents couldnt raise 4000naira which is equivalent to about 25dollars required of them to buy drugs.

The woman was delivered of the babies in the palour of a room apartment where she and her husband lives at Ilogbo, near sango otta. The home delivery was carried by her niece. seeing that the babies were too fragile after birth. The parent were advised by neighbors to go to the clinic. At a clinic nearby, damisile medical center, the family was advised to rush the baby to  a general hospital.

The mother and father dashed out of LASUTH and went to the federal Government owned  University teaching hospital, LUTH.By the time they arrived at Luth, one of the babies had died. At Luth they prescribed some drugs worth  4000naira which is equavalent to 25dollar for them to buy for the two babies. But what the parent had left on them was 1850Naira.

In frustration they left for home to raise the money. 30 minutes later when they arrived home, one of the two babies died remaining one. fews hours later the last one died.

The Minister for health, Prof. C.O. Onyebuchi Chukwu had recently lamented that at present, there is no mechanism for emergency care in the country.
