The Police commisioner, Mr. Kola Sodipo said the goat rustlers, were arrested with 17 live goats on October 8, 2014 at about 2a.m while they were transporting the goats from Ogbomoso towards Oyo town. The livestock theives were arrested by a team of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
One among the theives confessed that they usually sell the live goats to Mile 12 Lagos, and that the roasted meat merchants are the ones who usually buys them. One of the suspect said they sell each goat for 4000 naira to 6000 depending on their size.
