183 Hoodlums Arrested In Oshodi & Mafoluku Lagos By Special Taskforce Officia

Officials of the Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit have arrested 183 suspected hoodlums in Oshodi and Mafoluku areas of Lagos, southwest Nigeria.
While 170 hoodlums were arrested at Oshodi, 13 suspected criminals were arrested at an abandoned pit toilet at Mafoluku after a tip off that the public toilet was being used by suspected hoodlums as hideout.  The toilet was subsequently demolished.
Of the 170 hoodlums arrested in Oshodi, 19 of them are female, including two pregnant under-aged girls and three nursing mothers.
The taskforce, fully armed and with a Black Maria stormed Oshodi around 1.00am on Wednesday to arrest the suspected hoodlums and packed them into the Black Maria and conveyed them to the taskforce office at Alausa.
Taskforce Chairman, Bayo Sulaiman, a Chief Superintendent of Police, told P.M.NEWS that 46 of the hoodlums had been arrested and jailed in the past, but they went back to the same act.
He said the case of the 46 hoodlums who had been arrested in the past would be treated  separately , adding that of the 170 hoodlums arrested, 20 were under-aged boys and eight under-aged girls.
Sulaiman stated that the under-aged hoodlums would be taken to the Lagos State Remand Home.
He added that the taskforce stormed an abandoned toilet at Mafoluku area of the state after a tip-off, saying that 13 suspected criminals were arrested while two were set free after they were found innocent during screening. The taskforce chairman said his boys demolished the toilet to prevent criminals from using the place as hideout to perpetrate their nefarious activities in the community, adding that marijuana was recovered from the abandoned toilet.
Sulaiman stated that several women and girls had been raped at the abandoned toilet as the place was always dark at night, saying that its demolition was timely and in order.
He said those arrested would be charged to court Thursday.
